Whether you’re interested in acting, producing, or patronizing theatre, a membership with Footlight Theatre is a benefit to all involved. Our forty-year-plus history in Burnaby community theatre has allowed us to produce award winning shows, actors, and designers.

We would like you to be a part of our continuing success by becoming either an individual or family member. Membership entitles you to take part in our productions or serve on the Board of Directors, plus you receive these benefits:

  • Voting privileges at Footlight’s Annual General Meeting
  • Advance notice of the shows being produced by Footlight Theatre
  • Newsletters showcasing Footlight Theatre shows and other community theatre events

The price of membership is an incredible value when you consider the above benefits coupled with the knowledge that you are supporting quality community theatre. Our individual membership is $15 and family membership is $25 for a full year. Memberships expire on June 30. Be sure to renew early!

As a member of Footlight we need you in many different ways. Whether you value your membership as an audience-goer or as a performer on stage, your support is very important to the group’s survival as a whole.

Go behind the curtain

Putting on community theatre can be a lot of work. As is the case with all groups of this nature, there are those that are hands-on and those that prefer to offer support by being members only. But we do encourage all our members to get involved and experience the taste of success of mounting a stage production.

Many think that involvement in a production means that you have to act on stage, but in fact there are a multitude of tasks that need doing, and everyone can “play a part” in their own way. Jobs include the building and painting of sets, sewing of costumes, graphic design, rehearsal pianist, operating the lighting board or followspot, and much much more.
