"A Funny Thing Happened": Bev Adam's tales of the theatre

Beverley Adams began her musical career at an early age, studying voice and piano. She was able to put this early training to good use in 1966 when she formed Coquitlam Junior Theatre for children, which she musically directed for 12 years, until it’s demise. In 1975 director Fred Howell of “Annie Get Your Gun” asked her to join the cast. She has been hooked on theatre, and has been a member of Footlight Theatre Company ever since.

Over the years she has worked as musical director, artistic director, producer, and performer with various other groups, including Douglas College, Vagabond Players, and lately Dogwood Drama Club in Coquitlam. Beverley also directed and performed in the Vaudeville Variety Show at Burnaby Village Museum for 28 years. Beverley is now one of only three Life Members of Footlight Theatre Company.

President Judy Chang recently asked Beverley to relate some anecdotal stories from previous FTC productions for their newsletter.
